Our Trip to the Cliffs Was One Lucky Experience Because
These extraordinary pictures talk for themselves
I like to call Ireland, a little piece of paradise.
This tiny island is a natural wanderlust, with beauty in abundance.
The country’s brightness is vividly reflected in its shades of oceanic dark and clear sky’s light blue, along with the green lushing grasslands.
A visit to a nearby lake or a far-off mountain will convince you that this place is a living picturesque.
Cliffs of Moher
My husband and I visited this magical landscape in the summer last year. The experience was unparalleled. The amount of fresh air and the abundance of nature that I was breathing in, was unmatched.
Visually spectacular and spiritually soul-lifting, our visit to the Cliffs of Moher was a wonderful, rather a lucky experience.
Here are some well-known facts about the place —
The Cliffs of Moher are located in country Clare, on the southwestern coast of Ireland.
It is the most popular, most visited (over 1.4 million) tourist attraction in the country, as per a study conducted in 2017.
It is a paid tourist destination. You can purchase tickets online before traveling. A small fee of € 7 per adult is worth every minute that you spend at the cliffs.
The visit includes a cliff walk, a visitor center that hosts a couple of cafes, and a few shops selling Ireland and Cliffs of Moher souvenirs.
Public transport to and from this destination is available.
Sharing some pictures from our visit :
It seemed to be the perfect day for our visit.
Not rainy, not cloudy, sunny, and winds at enjoyable speeds.
This kind of weather is very unlikely for a coastal region such as the cliffs.
Before we planned and set off for the travel, our friends who had already visited this place before had warned us about the crazy weather we should expect to be greeted with at the cliffs.
My visit to other cliffs, a smaller one in Sligo had me convinced about the powerful, cold winds that won’t let your hair stay in place and make you experience winter-like chills at the peak of summer.
So we were prepared.
I kept checking the weather app and we were a little bit assured that the weather will not be a beast.
But much to our surprise, the weather was actually nice and pleasant.
The sun kept coming out every once in a while and the winds did not create much chaos. It allowed us to enjoy our peace with nature. No wonder we ended up walking for nearly six hours, covering both sides of the cliff walk (to the left and right of the visitor center).
This is why our visit to the Cliffs of Moher was a lucky experience.
We returned home refreshed, nourished, and rejuvenated.
If you ever plan to visit Ireland, make sure the visit to the Cliffs of Moher is on your list. Weather is never guaranteed but the best time to visit would still be July-August.
